Description of the Problem

Portland PD requested assistance with developing a crime prevention strategy for Bayside, which has high rates of drugs, gangs, homelessness, and other crimes. This area houses several public social welfare agencies and homeless shelters, but people are reluctant to access these services because of the crime in the area. While many stakeholders, including the neighborhood association, social welfare agencies, and nearby schools, are invested in reducing crime and improving neighborhood conditions, the strategies they have implemented thus far have not been sustainable, often due to staffing changes within these agencies. Therefore, the PD is requesting TTA services to effectively collaborate with the community and implement a sustainable long-term strategy that will help reduce crime in the area. I have also attached the TTA Request and TTA Assessment Form that Portland PD completed for your review.
