The goal of the roundtable is to identify collaborative efforts that can help reduce violent crime and improve the capacity of prosecutors and law enforcement to hold offenders accountable. Attendees will also identify the steps necessary to replicate these efforts and discuss strategies to measure and evaluate their effectiveness. It is anticipated that the roundtable will include representatives from approximately twelve jurisdictions from across the nation.
Under BJA guidance the direction of the meeting shifted to "the Role of Investigators in Prosecutors' Offices" and the conference was postponed to April 30 & May 1.
Please check the box next to the following questions if the answer is 'yes'.
The purpose of this roundtable discussion, and its aftermath, will be to document and discuss the latest strategies being used to fight such offenses and develop a set of model practices that can help jurisdictions nationwide in reducing such crimes.
Following the roundtable, APA, working in conjunction with the attendees and other training and technical assistance partners, will assist two or three jurisdictions in implementing some of the identified practices. A model practices guide will also be drafted and distributed to the field.
