In December, CSG Justice center staff conducted one site visit to North Dakota, meeting with local practitioners and behavioral health experts to vet policy recommendations aimed at increasing access to effective substance abuse and mental health treatment and expanding the provider workforce. CSG Justice Center staff traveled between Bismarck and Fargo to meet with key stakeholders including administrators from the Department of Health Services (DHS), a clinician at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR), private treatment providers, members of law enforcement, academics, and legislators, all of whom identified improving the behavioral health system as a top priority for the 2017 legislative session.

- 12/15: Call with DOCR Clinical Director to debrief after supervision integration work group video conference.
- 12/15: Video conference with DOCR Clinical Director, DHS Behavioral Health Director, FTR Clinical Administrator (DOCR), FTR Administrator (Statewide, DHS), District Program Manager (Parole & Probation Services, DOCR), and IT Analyst (ITD) to discuss updates to the DocStars system to track the FTR program.
- 12/15: Call with DOCR Clinical Director, DHS Behavioral Health Director, FTR Clinical Administrator (DOCR), FTR Administrator (Statewide, DHS), and FTR Region 5 Administrator (DHS) to discuss FTR provider applications and plan for trainings.
- 12/20: Call with FTR Clinical Administrator (DOCR) to plan for parole and probation officer trainings.
- 12/21: Call with DOCR Clinical Director and DHS Behavioral Health Director to discuss CSG's technical assistance plan and the FTR services launch in February.
- 12/28: Call with DOCR Clinical Director, FTR Clinical Administrator (DOCR), FTR Administrator (Statewide, DHS), and FTR Region 5 Administrator (DHS) to plan for the 40-hour care coordinator training in January.
- 12/29: Call with DOCR Clinical Director, FTR Clinical Administrator (DOCR), FTR Administrator (Statewide, DHS), and FTR Region 5 Administrator (DHS) to plan for the probation and parole training webinars in January.
