After meeting at the Cold Case Institute, Jake reached out to Jordan Satinsky to ask questions about what could be done for responding officer technical assistance for victim engagement. Paige and Jordan brainstormed on options, and Jake spoke with Jordan about specifics of needing trauma informed approach help as well as help with report writing for initial contact reports. Jordan and Paige will be reviewing the reports to find where they can use these to help change the culture of reporting officers.
Jordan Satinsky discussed an idea for a video series to be shown at Roll Call Meetings so all first responders will see it. The plan will be that each one is short to hold attention of the first responders. Paige and Jordan will put together a transcript for the recordings based on thoughts from Jake and the reports that were sent by him.
The JSO Roll Call Videos were approved fully. Paige emailed Jake and Wendy to find out the best format for them to receive the videos. Paige sent a link to a OneDrive folder with the .mp4 videos and the .scc files in case they had a platform that would play the closed captioning. Jake confirmed he was able to download all of the files. He also commented that they were exactly what he was hoping to capture.
JSO to arrange for the videos to be shown at the roll call meetings.
Paige emailed to see if they had been able to use the videos in the roll call meetings.
The videos are being approved within the department.
Paige reached out to see how the discussions with JSO administration was to show the videos at the JSO-wide roll call meetings.
Wendy and Jake let Paige know that their Administration had decided to hold off on showing the videos. Paige suggested they host their own coffee break to show them and/or share them with their colleagues through the YouTube SAKI Channel. Jake liked that idea.
