Midtown Community Court hosted a site visit with Judge Richardson Mendelson to learn about project reset, youth weapons diversion, community first and community engagement, overview of misdemeanor health court and emerging adult court, court observation
This was an external training for jurisdictions to understand how to use the CCAT. This training included an overview of risk assessment tools, the CCAT, and scoring practice. The training was for practitioners from Arlington, TX; Pasco, WA; and Kittitas, WA.
Organized by Judges in Western Washington, this Regional Community Court Retreat was attended by professionals (judges, prosecutors, public defenders, case managers, and service providers) from courts in Renton, Bothell, Enumclaw, Sumner, Lakewood, and Issaquah; Washington as well as members of the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts.
Center staff met virtually with each FY24 grantee site one-on-one to assess their goals and needs. Center staff then conducted six interactive webinars for all new grantees discussing the essential elements required to successfully operate a community court program. New grantees were also invited to attend one of two regional community court convenings. TTA providers also worked with the sites to complete their Enhancement Checklists and Implementation Action Plans. TTA providers are currently working with the sites to finalize their Individualized TTA Plans.
