During this reporting period, the IJIS team learned that IHS contracted with BH to provide it with PDMP/EHR integration solutions. IHS has opted to explore another vendor technology solution to provide PDMP/EHR integration rather than using its own tested and proven technology with the RxCheck Hub. The CDC advised IJIS to focus on non-IHS tribal integrations until IHS establishes a PDMP/EHR integration with BH or comes back to the table to discuss integration options.

Work on this deliverable was placed on hold for this reporting period because of IHS not moving forward to work with RxCheck.

During this reporting period, the IJIS team learned that IHS has contracted with BH to provide it with PDMP/EHR integration solutions. IHS has opted to explore another vendor technology solution for provision of PDMP/EHR integration rather than using its own tested and proven technology with the RxCheck Hub.

In July 2023, IJIS held two conference calls with DIHFS, including representatives from eClinicalWorks (eCW), the EMRs vendor for DIHFS. During those meetings eCW indicated that they would engage this project with their technology teams and requested that IJIS complete a Business Partner Relationship form to expedite the development process, which IJIS did. In these meetings, it was established that eCW had developed two PDMP/EHR endpoints, one with Bamboo Health (BH) and the other with LogiCoy Health (LCY).

The RxConsole User Guide was posted on the PDMP TTAC website and distributed to all RxCheck users early in this reporting period. The guide is a living document and is updated every time a new feature is rolled out. The IJIS team asked users to provide feedback on the guide to identify areas that may not be clear or functions that are not addressed. The IJIS team continues to update the guide based on the feedback provided by users.

The eHealth Exchange integration has remained stalled because of issues with the DURSA and the fees required from BJA. The PDMP TTAC and IJIS teams are exploring options of paying a smaller fee for just one state to get the integration moving and to build some success stories from pilot users.

• CDC—assisted CDC grantees and other partners in developing interstate data sharing and health care record integration with the RxCheck Hub and focused on projects with the Indian Health Service (IHS) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

The PDMP TTAC team regularly coordinates conference calls for PDMP administrators to connect and discuss issues, such as system enhancements, technical assistance, and promising practices. Below is a listing of some of the conference call that PDMP TTAC staff members facilitated and participated:

During this reporting period, BJA leadership indicated that there was no pressing need to hold a PDMP grantee orientation webinar; however, PDMP TTAC team members continue to offer assistance in organizing the webinar pending BJA leadership’s decision to move forward.
