The Knoxville, Tennessee, Police Department requested that PSP provide assistance in establishing a CompStat management system. On October 9–10, LAPD SMEs Ms. Jessica Statland and Lieutenant Christopher Chase provided targeted TTA to observe, advise, and recommend steps to implementing a robust CompStat program.

Representatives from the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) visited the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) on November 12–13, 2024, to learn about strategies for reducing violent crime within the unhoused population. The LVMPD showcased its multifaceted approach, emphasizing the role of the Behavioral Health Unit. The LVMPD reported a remarkable 7% recidivism rate among those who participate in these services.

A recent peer exchange between the Vallejo and Aurora Police Departments highlighted the effectiveness of community-based violence reduction programs. The focus of the exchange was the Aurora Stand Against Violence Everyday (SAVE) program. This grant-funded program leverages community partners as much as possible, working through confrontation and offering a concrete letter of support to those in the community most likely to commit violent crimes, specifically focusing on people between the ages of 18 and 25.

The Rochester Police Department conducted a peer exchange with the Omaha Police Department to learn about the impressive Omaha 360 program and its impact on reducing violent crime. After introductions, the Rochester team expressed their eagerness to understand Omaha 360’s collaborative approach to community engagement and crime reduction. The Omaha team provided an overview of the program, highlighting its impressive network of over 500 organizations and 5,000 resident participants.

From July 1 to December 31, 2024, the TTA team provided targeted training and technical assistance to site-based grantees via email. These communications focused on key areas such as program implementation, removing barriers to successful program completion, connecting sites to valuable resources, sharing best and promising practices, and fostering community connections. Specifically, the emails emphasized strategies for building relationships with law enforcement, first responders, and healthcare providers to enhance program outcomes and community impact.
