In September 2024, PRC staff assisted the PREA Management Office in presenting a webinar entitled: PREA Governor's Submissions: Helping to Prepare Your State?s Annual Governor's Submission. This webinar provided an overview of the governors' certification process for PREA coordinators.
This webinar provided an over of PREA Standard 115.78 Disciplinary Sanctions for Inmates. The presenters discussed implementation expectations, challenges implementing this standard, promising practices, auditing considerations, variations for other facility types, and answered questions from participants.
Implementing the new probationary certification curricula for the 2023-2024 post-Field Training Program cohort and any future cohorts which includes seven (7) probationary courses plus two (2) additional webinars. As part of this course list, two (2) courses contain small-group learning sessions led by PRC staff who are subject matter experts.
The PREA Online Audit System (OAS) was demonstrated in five (5) sessions lasting an hour each. These sessions were meant for agency and facility-based users such as PREA Coordinators, PREA Compliance Managers, and auditors. The presentations also included a Q&A session.
The PRC OAS team recently hosted a Q&A session, during which participants could ask any questions about the PREA Online Audit System (OAS). The OAS team also shared the latest updates on the system's features introduced during the previous quarter and provided insights on what users can expect to see in the upcoming months. Participants also had the opportunity to participate in polls where they could vote and provide their opinions on potential forthcoming changes to the OAS.
The PRC's OAS Team hosted a webinar that provided a detailed demonstration of the Online Audit System(OAS). The webinar was presented from the point of view of the PREA Coordinator and PREA Compliance Manager and included step-by-step guidance on how to respond to measures, upload evidence, submit the PAQ, and optimize the system's effectiveness and efficiency. Participants were also given the opportunity to ask targeted questions and provide feedback related to the OAS.
The PRC OAS Team conducted a webinar that demonstrated the Online Audit System (OAS) from an auditor's perspective. The webinar covered various topics such as reviewing the information provided by the facility in the PAQ and Supplemental Files, generating and using the Issue Log, responding to provision findings, making compliance determinations, completing the Post-Audit Reporting Information section, and submitting the Auditor Compliance Tool. Additionally, the team shared some useful tips and tricks to improve efficiency while using the OAS.
