The Lab hosted a listening session with Fellows to explore effective methods for disseminating information, such as leveraging networks, associations, and key change agents. The Charleston, SC SPI is requesting a peer exchange to Ft. Myers Police to discuss its efforts in implementing and electronically tracking its problem-oriented policing efforts. The CPD will directly benefit from being on-site and seeing the Fort Myers Police Department’s operation, including its data analysis infrastructure, and being able to ask questions of the key players who engaged in similar efforts. The lessons learned from this interaction will inform the CPD’s development, training, implementation, tracking, and ongoing sustainability of its problem-oriented policing project.

As continuation of the Tucson Police Department’s (TPD) prior PSP peer exchange request to visit Los Angeles to observe the LAPD’s full CompStat process, IIR provided SME assistance with LAPD SMEs Ms. Jessica Statland and Lieutenant Christopher Chase to provide targeted TTA for CompStat. Following the previous CompStat peer exchange, the TPD requested LAPD attendance at a TPD CompStat meeting to better prepare the TPD for using CompStat in its Investigative Bureaus, in addition to its current Patrol Division.

The Knoxville, Tennessee, Police Department requested that PSP provide assistance in establishing a CompStat management system. On October 9–10, LAPD SMEs Ms. Jessica Statland and Lieutenant Christopher Chase provided targeted TTA to observe, advise, and recommend steps to implementing a robust CompStat program.

Two Aurora PSP site representatives and one Rochester representative attended the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) 2024 Public Safety Symposium. This symposium convened a diverse group of those involved in public safety efforts around the country, including police, prosecutors, community supervision, crime analysts, researchers, community members, and criminal justice practitioners. During the 4-day symposium, attendees discussed innovative public safety initiatives, evidence-based violence reduction practices, and other contemporary criminal justice topics.
