During this reporting period, we worked with new site contacts to rethink/rework their goals given the length of time that has passed since they applied for the grant and essentially rewrite their implementation plan. We've also provided support with other PREA-related questions that have come up and answered questions about the grant process.
We continue to work on the grantees implementation plan.

Coaches have continued advising grantee with issues as they arise. In this reporting period, there have been questions specifically about the grant process and coaches have helped troubleshoot issues with ECSD's remaining goals.

During this reporting period, NHDOC staff were fully engaged with the coaches. The coaches assisted NHDOC by providing in depth information on comprehensive inmate education and reviewing developed materials.
The coaches provided feedback on trainings and education developed by NHDOC.

PREA activities included a review and recommendations for the PREA risk assessment tool and process of assessing inmates for risk of victimization and abusiveness. Also discussed PREA SMART book development and data collection.

The CJI team was involved in stakeholder engagement and relationship building throughout the state of Oklahoma, to build confidence, trust, and participation across the state of Oklahoma in the JRI phase 1 process. CJI met periodically with members of Governor Stitt’s office as well as other legislators to plan the JRI process; the Governor’s office issued a press release officially announcing the creation of the MODERN Justice Task Force on July 11th.

The CJI team conducted a comprehensive system assessment of the Oklahoma criminal justice system, with a specific focus on the jail systems. The quantitative analysis portion of this assessment included a review of publicly available jail data as well as the collection and analysis of data from county jails across the state. The CJI team met with a variety of jail administrators from dozens of counties.

The CJI team spent a year conducting a comprehensive system assessment of the Oklahoma criminal justice system, with a specific focus on the jail systems. The qualitative analysis portion of this assessment included a review of publicly available information such as statutes, court orders, administrative codes, municipal codes as well as a variety of interviews with stakeholders across Oklahoma’s criminal justice system.
