Center staff organized and hosted a structured site visit to Brooklyn Justice Initiatives for Chief Judge of City of Albany Municipal Court, Willie Weaver, and Debra McFadden, Business Process Improvement Specialist of the City of Albany Finance. The site visit included court observation, meeting with the judge and other key players, and talking with on-site social service providers.
VA would like AEquitas to attend the 2020 Judicial conference, a requirement for all district court judges in VA, in May 12-14, 2020 to present on victim trauma, interactions, and experiences to educate judges. AEquitas has marked this date down on their calendar for John Wilkinson to attend. VA will reach out to Dawn Hill at BJA to confirm they can submit a no-cost extension and use their SAKI funding for this training, as the training is in Spring 2020 and their current FY16 funding is scheduled to terminate 09/30/2019.
