The PRC's OAS Team hosted a webinar demonstration of the Online Audit System from the PREA Coordinator and PREA Compliance Manager?s perspective, including how to respond to measures, upload evidence, submit the PAQ, and tips and tricks on how to maximize efficacy and efficiency in the OAS. There was also an opportunity for targeted questions, answers, and feedback related to the OAS.
State leaders in Nevada requested technical assistance to understand the impact of COVID-19 on their state's criminal justice system, particularly their prison population as well as the implementation of AB 236. To fulfill this request, CJI conducted a quantitative and qualitative assessment to determine how the changed practices made in response to COVID-19 has altered the criminal justice system.
CJI staff traveled to Nebraska over the course of October and November to assist members of the Criminal Justice Reinvestment Working Group (CJRWG) in developing policy options for the Legislature to consider in the 107th Legislative session. The Working Group split off into three subgroups to develop policy options in the following areas: (1) Sentencing and Prison Admissions, (2) Release and Length of Stay, and (3) Community Supervision and Reentry.
Participate in BJA-led Tribal-Federal-State Intergovernmental Collaboration Team meetings.
Engage in a collaborative review process with federal agencies, providers, and tribes in the development reentry products.
Participate in recurring meetings with BJA to discuss collaborative partnerships.
Workshops with reentry focus presented at the APPA Winter Institute with the target audience for NA/AI communities and tribal leaders. The presenters were also NA/AI partners.
TTA outreach to tribal communities to discuss status of their programs, their needs for support, resources or referral for additional matters that are outside the scope of this TTA provider.
Urban created and administered a needs assessment in order to gauge contraband-related issues and concerns among correctional agencies.
Attended several contraband interdiction technology demos and shared information with Oklahoma DOC.
