The IACP POC followed up with the Suffolk County site to see if contact had been made and she informed IACP that she would be having a conversation with Detective Derisi and the Hempstead deputy chief at a later date.
The site requested resources on restorative justice. IACP forwarded resources to the site.
The site requested resources on engaging with youth. IACP sent the site a list of relevant resources.
Partnership with the National Association of County Officials (NACo) throughout this project as part of the equity program to include hosting virtual and in-person working groups to not only address equity in financing within criminal justice services but also raise awareness of racial and ethnic disparities (RED) by SAAs and county officials, strengthen state and local efforts to reduce the prevalence of RED, and elevate best practices for addressing RED by producing recommendations for ensuring equity throughout the budgeting process.
NCJA in partnership with NGA hosted a joint call with CJPA's and SAAs to discuss ARPA funding and how states are strategically planning for the use of this funding to learn from eachother.

South Carolina Department of Public Safety is interested in using Byrne JAG funds to support Community Violence Intervention strategies and is requesting assistance from NCJA in language for solicitations and program implementation support. Meeting to discuss in more detail in January 2022. Met to discuss and have been suspended as SC determines strategic plan.
Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs requested assistance to understand Community Violence Intervention Strategies so that they could determine if this was an area in which they would like to allocate Byrne JAG funding. NCJA provided them with information regarding different programming models including pros and cons of each model and the components they would need in order to make an informed decision regarding funding allocation
This feedback session is for criminal justice and community violence intervention training and technical assistance providers input on the October 26, 2021 Listening Session where their insight and feedback will be used to developing the CVI Implementation Checklist.
