As required by the grant, the National Governors Association leads monthly conference with criminal justice policy advisors (CJPAs) on policy challenges, emerging state issues, and best practices. Calls have taken place the 4th Thursday of every month beginning in July, 2016 and average 10 – 25 callers on each call.

The Socorro, Texas Police Department requested training related to intelligence gathering methods for first responders, crime analysis, anti-terrorism, and infrastructure protection. The request was referred to the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR), who will be the primary TTA provider for hosting 4 regional SLATT trainings in late 2018, including one session in the DFW metro area of Texas.

The Criminal Intelligence and Information Technology Crossroads Task Team held a face-to-face meeting in San Francisco, California, on September 19–21, 2017. During the meeting, the committee focused on identifying ways to merge technology and criminal intelligence to better protect and strengthen infrastructure and coordinate operational issues.
