The MVAI team engaged on the shooting that occurred in Lewiston, ME on October 25th. After determining that the incident warranted engagement based on the number of casualties/injured and the impact to the community, we reached out with information about MVAI services and resources and resources curated for them from the National Mass Violence Victimization Resource Center to:

As follow-up to the July 2023 RVCRI program webinar (hosted by the National Policing Institute, fellow program TTA provider with LISC) entitled "Establishing Connections: Integrating Victim Services in Rural Law Enforcement Agencies Webinar", the Tamaqua, PA grantee site (supported by LISC TTA) requested the opportunity for a follow-up consultation with subject matter expert Amy Duvall (Office of for Victims of Crime fellow).

NCJA is supporting the Center for Justice Innovation with a pilot program evaluation program with the Lincoln Police Department to evaluate a new position added to patrol, a team investigator. This position was added by the Chief approximately 6 months ago. As a first step, NCJA and CJI assisted the Lincoln Police Department with a survey that was sent out to patrol officers, analyzing the overall perception of the team investigator role.

LISC was asked by Senator Gillibrand's office to take part in a webinar describing best practices in applying for federal grants and to share examples of school-based CVI program supports available (both grants and technical assistance). The webinar was hosted by the Senator's office and was attended by about 500 school officials throughout the state.

LISC participated in TTA partnership meetings throughout the course of this grant period with the National Center of School Safety (NCSS) and the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR). These meetings provided an opportunity to familiarize with TTA priorities, requests from the field and upcoming activities.

NCJA is supporting the Center for Justice Innovation with a pilot program evaluation program with the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission. CJI will be designing an evaluation plan to study the Restructuring Area Dynamic and Relationships (RADAR) program currently being implemented by the Phoenix Police Department.

This reporting period, LISC created a TTA request portal that will collect CVI requests from the field. The landing page for this will eventually be the CVIPI National Resource and Field Support Center website, but until that is active, LISC is providing the link and QR codes during presentations and engagements with the field. This reporting period, LISC responded to 14 TTA requests providing the following TTA supports: virtual consultations, resource dissemination in support of CVI needs, facilitated peer-to-peer exchanges and provided delivery of general training.

LISC has regularly attended meetings with OJP staff to support the planning of the 2024 CVIPI convening. During this reporting period, LISC participated in 19 planning meetings that included efforts to identify panels presentations, confirm hotel space, engage with partners that will support registration and convening app.

LISC has coordinated 6 CVIPI TTA Provider Meetings starting 9/26/23 through the end of the reporting period. These meetings include staff from the Community Based Public Safety Collective and READI National. Topics have focused on general TTA requests coming in, efforts to jointly support planning of the April 2024 CVIPI convening, and addressing general TTA questions.

LISC held a virtual SME onboarding orientation on 10/31/23 describing programmatic deliverables and responsibilities for SME's supporting the activities of the STOP Specialized Training and Technical Assistance Program (School-based CVI). SME's were Urban Peace Institute, Dr. Kathryn Bocanegra, Alliance of Concerned Men, Oscar Harris, Nicole Rosenkrantz and Anne Marks.
