Over the month of September, CSG Justice Center staff provided office-based technical assistance to support non-SCA grantees and projects. Staff conducted approximately 9 phone calls, 9 emails, and 2 information requests.

Over the month of August, CSG Justice Center staff provided office-based technical assistance to Second Chance Act grantees and responded to inquiries from the field. Staff conducted approximately 133 phone calls and 124 emails.

On December 6 & 7, 2016, Equitas Foundation, the American Bar Association, and Georgetown University’s Prisons and Justice Initiative convened experts from 16 states and the District of Columbia to address Severe Mental Illness and the Death Penalty. The Summit was held at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. NCCJD was invited to attend and present information related to I/DD.

LISC provides BCJI sites with an opportunity to access small grants for two purposes. Peer Learning Small Grants fund travel by BCJI leaders to visit other sites in the BCJI network, or to visit sites of other initiatives (like VRN or SPI) to aid consideration of evidence-informed practices. LISC awarded the Denver BCJI site a peer learning grant to cover travel for members of the Denver Police Department to attend the most recent Smart Policing Institute (SPI) Collaboration workshop in Kansas City.

This webinar was for organizations responding to the 2015 Second Chance Act Statewide Recidivism Reduction solicitation. During webinar, officials from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance explained the grant program application process.
