In September 2023, IHS entered into a contract with Bamboo Health (BH) and provided grant funding to BH for PDMP/EHR integrations utilizing BH’s Gateway/PMPi Hub connection and has subsequently contracted with BH for upgrades to IHS’s RPMS data management system. Now, a year has passed and IHS is continuing to maintain services from BH. At the close of this reporting cycle, IHS has demonstrated no interest in further engagement with RxCheck.

Denver Indian Health & Family Services (DIHFS) Pilot Project: On 07/23/24 DIHFS went live in the RxCheck Hub with the Colorado PDMP providing PDMP/EHR patient Rx data integration within DIHFS’s eClinical Works (eCW) EMRs environment. This integration was a first for a Non-IHS Tribal Healthcare entity, PDMP/EHR with a state PDMP utilizing both third party PDMP and EHR vendors. IJIS was instrumental in the negotiations and provisioning of DIHFS to the Colorado PDMP/EHR integrations program. IJIS collaborated with LogiCoy to provide this integration service.

Discussions were held with IIR on how to move an eHealth integration into production due to the issue with BJA not being able to sign the DURSA. The eHealth Exchange has offered the option of having a state level DURSA for an annual fee of $25,000. In pursuit of that option, IJIS and TTAC have been in discussions with CyncHealth in Nebraska on becoming a pilot. Numerous calls and Q and A have been held with the CyncHealth team and they have reported that they have approval to move forward.

BJA leadership determined that there was no need to develop site-specific profiles for PDMP grant recipients. However, the PDMP TTAC team continues to update the Microsoft Power BI visualization for the PDMP TTAC website detailing the goals and objectives for the latest
Harold Rogers PDMP grantees. This deliverable has been completed.

The PDMP TTAC team consistently offers technical support to stakeholders. This support includes responding to information requests and facilitating peer-to-peer communication. By doing so, the team identifies potential resources and TTA needs as PDMPs evolve. This proactive approach allows the PDMP TTAC team to efficiently and effectively provide assistance and be responsive.

As part of the Community Trust Initiative (CTI) project, the IACP organized a media training program focusing on the unique challenges faced by first-line supervisors and command staff. Laura McElroy, a highly respected authority in media relations, guided participants through advanced techniques and strategies for managing media interactions and public statements. Participants learned about how to confidently and effectively engage with media representatives, handling inquiries with poise and clarity.

This training was delivered in collaboration with the Collaborative Reform Initiative Technical Assistance Center. The Take Action: Make the R.I.G.H.T. Choice and Intervene training is an eight-hour instructor-led course designed to teach, encourage, and empower law enforcement personnel to actively intervene when needed to prevent colleagues from committing policy or procedure mistakes or unprofessional, unethical, or criminal conduct. Officers will learn the powerful influence that every officer, regardless of rank, can have on a colleague’s conduct and behavior.
