The objective of this project are two-fold: (1) to create a pilot program to establish a rigorous academic-based training
model that can be used nationwide for the rapid analysis of suspected illicit drugs seized in the field and (2) to provide
training to law enforcement officers on methods to conduct rapid testing on suspected drugs encountered in the field; how
to properly collect, document, and store evidence; and risk mitigation strategies focused on officer safety.
