APPA delivered a two-day Case Management Practices for Tribal Probation Personnel Training in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on June 21-22, 2016. A total of 10 scholarships were initially awarded to attend the training; however, four officers failed to attend last minute (one tribe instituted an immediate travel restriction for all staff, one officer was terminated, and the other two gave no reason for their no-show status).

Kimberly Cobb provided office-based technical assistance to the Bristol Bay Native Association from November 2015 to February 2016. Kimberly then delivered on site technical assistance, along with partners Center for Court Innovation and National Criminal Justice Training Center, March 14-18, 2016. Kimberly also requested to cover the travel expenses for Morgen Jaco, Reentry Coordinator for the state of Alaska, to attend the BBNA Reentry Coalition meeting, since her partnership will be vital in working with BBNA in releasing members back to their villages. BJA approved this request.
As part of their regular tribal-state court forum meetings, Michigan is holding a meeting with a focus on peacemaking in both the tribal and state court contexts. The meeting is scheduled for May 19-20, 2016 in conjunction with a tribal-state court forum meeting. They have requested TLPI assist with a presentation at the meeting.
