Create a white paper on utilizing WinFE and the appropriate scenarios an investigator may choose to triage a computer system. Historically, when computers were seized, the concern was for protecting the largest amount of data. This amounted to protecting the hard drive in the system by immediately removing power to the system. This was done knowing that the contents of the random access memory (RAM ) would be lost. This decision was based on the relatively small size of RAM verses the larger size of the hard drive. Today, systems have RAM capacities of 2 – 128 GB in size.
