Review Red Lake Detention Center's PREA Policy for compliance with the adult prison and jail standards and juvenile standards. Red Lake Detention Center has two connecting facilities. One for adults and another for juveniles.
"1. Searched for newly enacted record clearance statutes across 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 5 territories (adult and juvenile).
2. Discovered 1 newly enacted record clearance statute in NC with a future effective date (adult).
3. Added 10 policies from previously enacted statutes in 4 states (ND, LA, CO, NY) with August effective dates (adult).
4. Amended 8 policies from previously enacted statutes in 3 states (ND, CO, MO) with August effective dates (adult)."
CSG Justice Center staff Updated NICCC data to incorporate legislative changes from 2019 legislative sessions. 4 states updated in August: Illinois, North Carolina, Connecticut & Idaho 4 of 54 states have now been updated through 2018.
28 CFR Part 23 plays a pivotal role in the information sharing environment for law enforcement. To further reach the law enforcement community, the 28 CFR Part 23 online training also is made available on the Center for Task Force Leadership and Integrity (CTFLI) secure website. The CTFLI online training and resource center offers online training for law enforcement—task force personnel, in particular—that focuses on the organizational and operational principles of task forces and on leadership and management strategies for operating task forces.
During the July 1 through December 31, 2019, reporting period, IIR responded and provided technical assistance to inquiries from agencies requesting assistance in understanding and implementing 28 CFR Part 23 requirements. The following examples represent typical requests for technical assistance:
August 2019—IIR provided technical assistance to the FBI Office of Partner Engagement, Quantico, Virginia regarding a variety of issues related to 28 CFR Part 23 as a part of their privacy curriculum development work.
During the July 1 through December 31, 2019, reporting period, IIR responded and provided technical assistance to inquiries from agencies requesting assistance in understanding and implementing 28 CFR Part 23 requirements. The following examples represent typical requests for technical assistance:
August 2019—IIR continued working with the Crime Prevention and Information Center at the Chicago, Illinois, Police Department and granted them use of a preauthorization code. This code has been used to train over 300 users at the Chicago Police Department.
During the July 1 through December 31, 2019, reporting period, IIR continued to provide data analysis extracted from the LMS system to BJA, upon request. IIR is working with the National Public Safety Partnership to promote the 28 CFR Part 23 training. IIR also continues to liaise with individual agencies that need technical assistance to register their users and to support the administration of the training throughout their agencies.
During the July 1 through December 31, 2019, reporting period, 3,458 users were vetted and approved to complete the 28 CFR Part 23 online training and 3,655 certificates of completion were issued.
During the July 1 through December 31, 2019, reporting period, IIR, with the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s (BJA) approval, coordinated educational efforts through individual agency requests for information regarding 28 CFR Part 23. These requests typically involve coordinating with the agency’s preauthorization agent to verify training completion.
