Recognizing the overlap between behavioral health (mental health and substance use disorders) and the criminal justice system, State Administering Agencies (SAAs) are increasingly looking to support programs and initiatives related to behavioral health and crisis response. In the early 2000s, Dr. Mark Munetz and Dr. Patricia A. Griffin along with Dr. Henry J. Steadman of Policy Research Associates, Inc. developed the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM).

The IACP panel titled "Experiences from the Field: What Works in Advancing Women Officers" discussed lessons learned and successes from 30x30 participating agencies with a focus on how to effect change and increase the representation of women in policing. It featured Assistant Chief Armando Aguilar (Miami Police Department), Chief Kenneth Cost (Mesa Police Department), Detective Superintendent David Cowan (Victoria Police), Dr. Tanya Meisenholder (Director of Gender Equity, Policing Project), and Chief Sheryl Victorian (Waco Police Department).

An integrated and comprehensive week of memorial activities that honor the memory of the officers lost in the line of duty, and building the basis for law enforcement survivors to understand ways they can begin to rebuild their shattered lives. C.O.P.S. Survivor's Conference includes over 70 counseling and debriefing sessions facilitated by professional counselors and peer support staff each year.

LISC was in contact weekly (often daily) with BJA representatives to plan the 2024 CVIPI Grantee Conference and hosted weekly 2024 CVIPI Grantee Conference Planning Meetings. Planning activities included submitting for approval convening planning timelines, presenters, and descriptions; conference workshop descriptions, presenters, and learning objectives; conference cost approval requests; draft hotel and A/V provider contracts; and webpage designs.

Center staff hosted a VTC Summit on April 2nd and April 3rd, 2024, at the National Veterans Resource Center in Syracuse, NY. This in-person summit was an opportunity for teams from the 2019 cohort (California, Ohio, Maine, Pennsylvania, and Virginia) and 2022 cohort (Arkansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Oregon) to connect, collaborate, and learn about veteran-specific topics through plenary and break-out sessions. Attendees included about ten VTC stakeholders from each of the nine different states that the Center has worked with on VTC strategic planning.
