On July 24, 2024, Center staff held a final advisory council meeting before the rollout began. In attendance were various criminal justice practitioners from the field. In this meeting, the council members were updated on the data collection from beta testing. Center staff also discussed the JS-BIT rollout plan and provided an overview of the next steps which include data collection and reports and training curriculum development.

The Community of Practice for Families and Youth meeting is held every other first Thursday of the month at 2:00pm EST. This is a broad category, and therefore, we are very excited to learn about what types of activities each of you are planning. This is an opportunity for grantees to discuss experiences and challenges, share successes, and shape training and technical assistance opportunities related to the role and responsibilities of project coordinators In May, Met for bi-monthly meeting. A guest presenter discussed harm reduction and parenting.

Join guests Tamera Marshall, Youth Diversion Coordinator for Oglala Sioux Tribe and Annie Brokenleg, Juvenile Diversion Coordinator for the State of South Dakota for this community of practice session focused on highlighting tribal-state collaboration through the South Dakota Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative. Engage in peer exchange with other services providers focused on the value of multi-jurisdictional collaboration in juvenile diversion.
