Evaluation feedback from five individuals completing the on-demand virtual “Homegrown Violent Extremism Threat to Law Enforcement: The Jesse Hartnett Survivor Story” was positive. All student indicated that they were satisfied with the course and agreed or strongly agreed that the information was useful, it increased their knowledge, was relevant to their current jobs, they would apply what they had learned and would recommend the course to others.

This webinar explored the challenges individuals faced when transitioning from incarceration to community-based treatment, including barriers to care, housing, and limited access to support services. Participants explored strategies for collaborating with community providers and best practices for supporting justice-involved individuals to ensure continuity of care.

Lawyers have begun to experiment with artificial intelligence to streamline their case review processes. However, doing so brings risk for lawyers due to confidentiality and attorney-client privilege issues. This webinar brought together a representative of WestLaw to demonstrate their new technology and a nationally known ethics expert to discuss the concerns lawyers should grapple with before using AI for case work.

On December 11, 2024, the HAVI hosted a webinar entitled “HVIPs in the CVI Ecosystem” to answer questions from the CVI field. There were nearly 300 attendees. In the registration process, attendees were asked to submit questions about HVIPs and their role in the CVI ecosystem. This provided the HAVI with information to begin assessing the field for specific needs surrounding professional development and organizational structure. The webinar included HAVI faculty and other emerging member programs.
