TLPI funded a speaker for a workshop at the 2023 American Indian Justice Conference. On May 3, 2023 TLPI Consultant Korey Wahwassuck presented a workshop titled "Joint Jurisdiction Courts 101: An Overview" at the 2023 American Indian Justice Conference. This session introduced tribal courts, tribes, and tribal leaders to Joint Jurisdiction Courts, discussed what they are, how they began, the different models, and provided an opportunity to begin exploring how to implement or develop a Joint Jurisdictional Court.

TLPI collaborated with partner organization RuralCap for a plenary session presentation. On May 3, 2023 TLPI Consultant Korey Wahwassuck co-presented with Judge Evelyn Dolchok on joint jurisdiction courts for the Plenary #2: "Success Stories in Joint Jurisdiction Courts" at the American Indian Justice Conference. This session highlighted successful joint jurisdictional court models in Minnesota and Alaska. Joint jurisdiction courts provide an example of how tribal and state collaborations can help to improve justice system services.

On June 29, 2022 TLPI Consultant Korey Wahwassuck co-presented with TLPI staff Suzanne Garcia on Family Healing to Wellness Courts for the workshop titled "Overview of Family Healing to Wellness Courts." This session introduces tribal courts, tribes, and tribal leaders to Family Healing to Wellness Courts and provides an opportunity to begin exploring how to implement or develop a Family Healing to Wellness Court.

TLPI collaborated with Law Enforcement Partner, TJI, for a plenary session presentation. On June 28, 2022 TLPI Consultant Korey Wahwassuck co-presented on intergovernmental court collaborations for the Plenary #2: Intergovernmental Collaborations to Support Community Safety at the American Indian Justice Conference. This session highlighted the need for collaborations to support responses to Crime in Tribal Communities. A specific discussion also included how intergovernmental collaborations can support the implementation and enforcement of tribal laws.

TLPI Consultant Korey Wahwassuck presented a workshop "Intergovernmental Collaboration in the age of McGirt v Oklahoma" at the American Indian Justice Conference. This presentation will discuss multidisciplinary approaches, Joint Jurisdiction courts, cross system planning, and formalizing collaborations through Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) and more. Completed on 11/3/2021.
