NW3C will send staff Jeff Lybarger, Laura Cook, Jeff Prater, Jason Webber & Mike Fergus (IACP) to participate in a panel presentation called, "Safeguarding Seniors: Combating Elder Fraud in the Digital Age".
NW3C to send staff Laura Cook to attend the IACP conference and to provide an SME panel discussion and presentation on the topic of, "Safeguarding Seniors: Combating Elder Fraud in the Digital Age". The presentation is described as, "As elder fraud continues to escalate, it poses significant challenges, with perpetrators often operating from overseas and leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency.
NW3C to send staff Jim Emerson to attend the IACP conference and to provide an SME panel discussion and presentation on the topic of, "Building Trust Across the Law Enforcement Forensic Landscape: Implementation of Forensic Standards". The discussion is described as, "An SME Panel discussion and presentation as to the implementation of Standards and there importance in the scheme of reliable digital forensics and digital evidence within a framework of quality management."
NW3C to send staff Jim Emerson to facilitate the CCDE Committee meeting and interact in discussion on the topic of SLTT LEA Digital Priorities and Challenges and benefiting from the Listening Sessions at NCCC in April 2024.
NW3C to send staff Jim Emerson to facilitate the CJIS Working Group. Mr. Emerson will also be presention on the topic of "What Every Chief Should Know About CJIS Security Modernization". The presentation is described as, "An SME Panel discussion and interaction with the audience as to the changes to CJIS Security Policy versions 5.9.1 thru 5.9.5 and the impacts upon SLTT LEAs".
NW3C will send staff Michelle Kreps, Steve DeBrota, Justin Fitzsimmons, Laura Cook, Moe McClanahan, and Nicole Hicks to attend and collect information for inclusion in various BJA educational products.
NW3C sent staff Jeff Lybarger to attend and present at the West Virginia Fusion Center Annual Meeting. He will present on, "About NW3C/BJA".
NW3C was asked to send staff Chuck Cohen to conduct a Zoom presentation on the topic called, "A Deeper Understanding of Metadata for Bar Investigators". The presentation was for investigators who work for state supreme courts and the DC federal circuit court investigating bar licenses attorneys.
NW3C sent staff Chuck Cohen to provide a one-hour presentation entitled, "Leadership Considerations for Online Covert Research and Online Undercover Investigations". The presentation is described as, "This presentation is designed for state criminal investigation leaders. It explores the technical, policy, and legal considerations of conducting online cover research and online undercover investigations. The presentation uses case studies and examples with an emphasis on the importance of policy and operational planning".
