The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will offer an overview of the Bureau of Justice Assistance Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Specialized Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Program for law enforcement who work in K–12 schools and/or with school-aged populations. This federally funded program is designed to support the development and implementation of specialized training and other resources for law enforcement, school security, and community supervision professionals who work with students.

IIR attended the Alabama Association of School Resource Officers Leadership Conference. At this conference IIR: met with potential, national level SMEs; promoted the new STOP School Violence Law Enforcement program, and conducted an environmental scan of resources and trainings available and presented to the field.

BJA’s STOP School Violence Grant Program is designed to improve school security by providing students and teachers with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and help prevent acts of violence. This live webinar is available for interested applicants to ask questions about the solicitation.
