States face numerous and pressing criminal justice challenges that directly impact communities and agencies across multiple levels of government. State leaders—governors, legislators, and agency officials—play a critical role in ensuring public safety by setting priorities, identifying policies and programs to achieve them, and allocating finite resources that impact every area of the justice system.
Report: Justice System Planning Meeting
with Oklahoma Tribes
November 13-14
Purpose:
Provide overview of considerations that should be addressed as part of a comprehensive justice system
planning process to ensure the proper implementation and funding of justice-related policies, programs,
and justice system infrastructure projects.
Participants:
Approximately 40 individuals attended the meeting, including representatives from law enforcement,
Reentry from a jail, prison or a residential treatment experience can be challenging for fathers and can often be a critical point in their lives. Growing into a good father can be a powerful motivation, supporting prosocial change. Fathers are a critical necessity for the future of our children and communities. Healthy, engaged fathers are safer in our communities and can significantly impact the successful, healthy development of their children.
This is a 20 week virtual academy that prepares new probation, corrections and reentry professionals to work with correctional clients.
Tribal Community Corrections & Re-Entry Program
IJIS received a subaward from IIR on September 1, 2023, to support three independent efforts related to RxCheck. The efforts include support to and maintenance of the RxCheck Hub, support to the tribal integration project, and support to eHealth Exchange Integration.
The PDMP TTAC team has developed working relationships with many key federal partners representing public health and public safety communities and regularly collaborates with numerous national organizations. During this reporting period, the PDMP TTAC staff supported the following national and federal partners:
An in-person meeting of TTA providers has not yet been scheduled; however, the PDMP TTAC staff will participate when the meeting is held.
During the reporting period, the PDMP TTAC team participated in weekly conference calls with BJA leaders to discuss current PDMP projects and activities. In addition, the TTAC team participated in one quarterly COSSUP provider call with BJA.
