With the passing of the Justice for All Reauthorization Act (JFAA) of 2016, requirements associated with Byrne JAG grants have changed.The webinar examined how these changes create an opportunity for state administering agencies (SAAs) and public defense providers to devise new collaborative efforts to support public defense services. Specifically, the webinar covered:

The purpose of the Prosecutor's Research Forum is to receive feedback from prosecutor representatives on expanding the curriculum to make the workshop more applicable to this stakeholder group.

The focus of this session is on the types of evidence-based strategies affect the four major ways that crimes concentrate—people, places, patterns, and problems—and the types of analysis that inform those strategies. This discussion includes related concepts like hot spot policing, problem-oriented policing, intelligence-led policing, focused deterrence, and CPTED, and fits them into a comprehensive model of analysis and response.
