As someone who’s navigated the tricky waters of weight management, I’ve seen firsthand how modern lifestyle choices have led to an increase in unwanted weight gain for many, including myself. These days, with more of us leading sedentary lives, coupled with high-stress environments and less-than-ideal eating habits, finding effective ways to manage our weight has become more crucial than ever.

The District of the US Virgin Islands requested assistance with their PSN strategy. From April 15-18, 2024 the CNA TTA team sent representatives to the USAO’s in the US Virgin Islands to complete a strategic planning session with PSN stakeholders, a crime analysis capacity assessment, a research partner working session, and an in-depth information session and PSN working session for the USAO, Natasha Baker.

This webinar highlights how practitioners, writers, artists, and other creatives advance restorative justice advocacy and education efforts through storytelling. Examples discussed will include novels, films, case studies, theatre, and more. Attendees will consider how media and stories influence the public’s perception of justice issues and can expand public imagination.

NRTAC member Joseph Milek was to attend the 2024 LeadsOnline Conference in Kansas City, MO. As part of the NRTAC’s participation, Joseph was to attend the conference events to network with current local CGIC grantees and learn about existing violent crime reduction strategies initiatives to support violent crime reduction across the United States. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Joseph wasn't able to attend the conference.

The NTCRC has been consulted by local and national press for information regarding treatment courts. During this reporting period, the NTCRC was approached by one news outlet. Business Insider ran a piece on Veterans Treatment Courts in which NTCRC Co-Director Dr. Christina Lanier was featured. Additionally, the NTCRC was interviewed for two articles during the fall 2023 reporting period that were not previously accounted for: one piece on mental health courts for NPR featuring Co-Director Dr. Kristen DeVall, and another piece on mental health courts for KFF Health News.
