BJA requested the presence and participation of the NRTAC team at the IACP 2024 Annual Conference held from October 19-22 in Boston, Massachusetts. This four-day event featured training, networking opportunities, and educational workshops on various topics important to law enforcement and the work of NRTAC. The NRTAC was invited to participate in a BJA TTA roundtable on the fourth day. Mr. Alan Hughes from the National Policing Institute (NPI) represented the NRTAC in the roundtable, which highlighted the various TTA resources NTTAC can provide to agencies throughout the country.

The development of a guidance document and reference material outlining best practices for establishing JAG Advisory Boards for the Nebraska SAA's office is underway. This board will play a crucial role in supporting NCC's comprehensive strategic planning efforts.

USVI LEPC requested NCJA assistance in facilitating discussions with their stakeholders regarding the newly implemented USVI behavioral health act and criminal justice data sharing over the course of two days. Day 1 focused on SIM mapping and discussions of regarding risk factors, community responses and environmental designs related to the behavioral health act and criminal justice policy programming. I acted in a support role via note-taking for the the NCJA facilitators.

Inspired by the recently released Guidance on Meaningful Community Engagement, this webinar highlighted key insights from the document. It focused on strategies for engaging with community-based organizations, enhancing language accessibility, and improving accessibility in data collection and evaluation. These topics were explored by a diverse panel of subject matter experts, including former SAAs, retired law enforcement chiefs, NCJA Data Center staff, and language access specialists.

The Nebraska Crime Commission, in collaboration with NCJA, conducted a statewide justice system needs assessment survey to evaluate the needs of their stakeholders, including new and prospective Byrne JAG recipients. Nebraska's unique geographic landscape enabled the survey to reach rural and tribal communities, aligning with their goal to strengthen engagement with these populations. The survey will serve as a critical component in shaping the state’s JAG strategic planning process.

Minnesota ERPO TTA Ongoing Meetings provide state-specific ERPO TTA support to facilitate the implementation and adoption of best practices. They bring together state and county-level agencies, including law enforcement, judges, attorneys, public health officials, and local non-profits. The focus is on violence prevention, domestic violence services, and legal support.
