During the July–December 2024 reporting period, IIR responded to 170 inquiries submitted through the website’s “Contact Us” form. These were routine requests, including registration changes and assistance, printing certificates, and lost passwords. IIR also provided technical assistance for inquiries from agencies requesting assistance in understanding and implementing 28 CFR Part 23 requirements. Between July 1 and December 31, 2024, no requests for technical assistance, desk reviews, or clarification of the regulation were received.

The current online training effort, managed by IIR, focuses on the core principles associated with the requirements of 28 CFR Part 23 and promotes an understanding of P/CRCL concerns related to CII sharing. This online training facilitates criminal intelligence system compliance by training a larger number of individuals than is feasible in a classroom setting alone. The training is modular in design and allows students to complete modules at their own pace for a more comprehensive understanding of the regulation.

During the July–December 2024 reporting period, IIR held a kick-off planning discussion with BJA Senior Policy Advisor David Lewis on October 8, 2024, to explore and identify an initial plan for developing and delivering webinars on the topic of 28 CFR Part 23. Three webinars were proposed, targeted for general awareness, role-specific, and entity-specific focus.
