Swatting—making fraudulent emergency calls about serious threats—has increasingly impacted schools and first responders nationwide. These and other hoax threats negatively affect school climate and perceptions of school safety and are often felt throughout entire communities.

In this roundtable discussion, you will hear from a school-based team that has recently dealt with a swatting incident. You will learn how they addressed the threat at the moment, ensured the community was informed, and improved their existing operations plans.

Bullying tips are commonly triaged in Anonymous Reporting Systems (ARS). Because of their prevalence, it’s essential that school staff are prepared to respond to bullying tips and address root causes.

In this webinar, the conclusion of a two-part series, experts share upstream practices that will help schools reduce instances of bullying. Additionally, panelists discuss best practices for involving school staff and broaching conversations with students. By the end of the webinar, attendees will leave with examples of tangible bullying responses and clear ways to act on ARS tips.

An Anonymous Reporting System (ARS) is one approach that schools may use to promote student safety. Tip triage and response are essential components to connecting students with appropriate services and support.

The National Center for School Safety provides one-on-one technical assistance to STOP grantees. This Intensive TA has been offered since January 2021, and is provided to select agencies requiring more assistance. The Detroit Association of Black Organizations (DABO) was one of these agencies. TA Specialists have been in contact with DABO since 3/2/2022, with their intake meeting occurring on 4/1/2022. There have been 3 additional follow-up meetings and 1 occurred during the current reporting period.

The National Center for School Safety provides one-on-one technical assistance to STOP grantees. This Intensive TA has been offered since January 2021, and is provided to select agencies requiring more assistance. State of Wisconsin was one of these agencies. TA Specialists have been in contact with State of Wisconsin since 8/3/2021, with their intake meeting occurring on 9/15/2021. There have been 4 additional follow-up meetings, with 3 that occurred during this reporting period.

The National Center for School Safety provides one-on-one technical assistance to STOP grantees. This Intensive TA has been offered since January 2021, and is provided to select agencies requiring more assistance. Page Unified School District #8 was one of these agencies. TA Specialists have been in contact with Page Unified School District #8 since 11/4/2021, with their intake meeting occurring on 4/8/2022. There have been 14 additional follow-up meeting, with 6 of those occurring within the current reporting period.

The National Center for School Safety provides one-on-one technical assistance to STOP grantees. This Intensive TA has been offered since January 2021, and is provided to select agencies requiring more assistance. Onondaga County Sheriff's Office was one of these agencies. TA Specialists have been in contact with Onondaga County Sheriff's Office since 4/28/2021, with their intake meeting occurring on 4/4/2022. Intake and follow-up meetings are conducted by TA Specialists as one-hour meetings via Zoom to assist with any concerns regarding project implementation.

TA Specialists have been in contact with Oklahoma State Department of Education 2018/2020 since 6/24/2021, with their intake meeting occurring on 8/28/2023. There has been 1 additional follow-up meetings and it occurred during the current reporting period.

TA Specialists have been in contact with Oklahoma State Department of Education since 4/28/2021, with their intake meeting occurring on 6/30/2021. There have been 3 additional follow-up meetings and all 3 occurred during the current reporting period.
