Policy Research Associates, in collaboration with partners, led the coordination and implementation of strategic planning for crisis response with the Shreveport, Louisiana Police Department (SPD). The strategic planning session occurred across two virtual sessions, during which the SPD and their criminal justice and behavioral health/disability service provider partners participated in a modified Sequential Intercept Model Mapping (intercepts 0-2) to identify their current system for crisis response and any gaps/barriers to that system that might be improved upon.

Provide TTA Assistance in response to a request from the Arlington County Commonwealth Attorney's Office. TTA focus will center on improving criminal justice outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing training and associated resources to Arlington criminal justice system and community stakeholders to increase awareness and understanding of the issues that lie at the intersection of disabilities and the criminal legal system.

NCCJD was invited to submit a proposal after we contacted them when we met their staff at the exhibit at NSA conference. The session focused on people with I/DD in jails and the need for more and better screening tools to identify people with often hidden disabilities cycling in and out of the criminal justice system.
