Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance
In November, Recidiviz spent the month ingesting the new data that was required to build the tools. Their team is currently meeting with trusted testers to gain continuous feedback about the tool.

The CSG Justice Center team is conducting research on performance-based contracting and is actively developing a project plan to structure additional technical assistance around the Monthly Metrics Reports.

In October, Recidiviz met with PADOC's leadership team to confirm the direction of the project and push for more data. The Recidiviz team was able to meet with PADOC's new Director of Field Operations (Head of Parole) to generate excitement about the project and next steps.

While Recidiviz were not able to get data by the projected 10/15 date, they anticipate receiving data by early November and have updated the timeline to reflect this new timing.

In October, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with PADOC regarding staffing changes occurring within the agency. PADOC's primary point of contact for the BJA grant changed to the Statewide Coordinator at the end of September.

New York Smart Supervision FY22 TA (November 2024)In December, CSG Justice Center staff continued meeting with NYDOCCS staff to discuss the progress of the project. NYDOCCS staff submitted the Request for Proposals (RFP) for approval and review to the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU). On December 13, NYDOCCS received preliminary feedback from CPU and are actively working on the edits to the RFP. The NYDOCCS cost proposal is still pending review by the CPU.

New York Smart Supervision FY22 TA (November 2024)
In November, CSG Justice Center staff continued meeting with NYDOCCS staff to discuss the progress of the project. NYDOCCS staff drafted proposal questions and re-submitted the scope of work for review and approval to the Contractor Procurement Unit (CPU) on November 15. In addition, NYDOCCS staff obtained clearance with the Integrated Systems Division on November 15.
NYDOCCS staff met with the CPU to discuss the processing and releasing of the RFP to adhere to their release date of December 15, 2024.
