During this webinar, recipients of 2018 SCA Juvenile Anti-gang Strategies and Programs Category 2 Implementation grants will receive information on the requirements and deliverables of the program. Specifically, grantees will learn how they will develop a strategic plan that is comprehensive, collaborative, and multi-systemic in its approach to ensure that reentry services for gang-involved youth focus on enhancing services while in confinement and improving community supervision strategies when released to the community.

During this webinar, recipients of 2018 SCA Juvenile Co-Occurring Category 1 Implementation grants received information on the requirements and deliverables of the program. Specifically, grantees learned how to develop a strategic plan that is comprehensive, collaborative, and multi-systemic in its approach to increase services and treatment for youth in confinement with co-occurring substance abuse problems and mental health disorders who are returning to the community from incarceration.

Collateral consequences of conviction are the legal and regulatory restrictions that limit or prohibit people convicted of crimes from accessing employment, housing, and other rights, benefits, and opportunities long after their sentences have been served. These restrictions can have debilitating effects on the livelihood and social integration of people with criminal histories, increasing their likelihood of recidivating. These consequences remain relatively obscure, scattered throughout state and federal statutory and regulatory codes.

During this webinar, recipients of the FY2018 Second Chance Act Category 2: Community-Based Adult Reentry with Small and Rural Organizations grant received information about the grant program, including steps for getting the program started, submission of the Planning and Implementation (P&I) Guide, and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) expectations. Technical assistance providers from the National Reentry Resource Center and representatives from BJA answer questions and discuss resources that are available to grantees.
