The grantee submitted a TTA request to obtain motivational interviewing training for their probation officers and treatment staff to engage clients and support recovery. AHP delivered a motivational interviewing training on March 15, 2023, developed a manual for the train the trainer, and delivered this training on July 25-27, 2023.

The program submitted a TTA request to obtain information about building out a Forensic Peer Services system in Oregon. They also needed information on how to effectively engage criminal justice partners in their state. They wanted to develop relationships with Oregon prisons, jails, probation/parole departments. Working with Altarum, AHP provided helpful resources to the program, and also sent contact information of two grantees who would like to speak with the program and share their expertise.

The program submitted a TTA request to obtain information about how to manage withdraw symptoms in a jail for the youth who are struggling just like the adults are. AHP spoke with the program and shared helpful resources.

Robert Sand facilitated a breakout session at the annual conference of NEARCP together with Judge Eric Mehnert, a tribal court judge in Maine, and Armand Coleman from the Transformational Prison Project in Boston. The presentation was very well received.
