The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) has developed a new resource for BJA TTA providers, “How to Post a Webinar Recording: A BJA NTTAC Tip Sheet.” This resource provides guidance and best practices on how to capture and post a WebEx recording after a virtual meeting, presentation, or training.

RAND plans to conduct the fourth in-person meeting of the Criminal Justice Technology Forecasting Group. This meeting will focus on addressing the top two topics for follow-on research from prior CJTFG meetings: identifying the most promising emerging technologies for sharing and using information, and determining top business cases for sharing information across the criminal justice enterprise.

On Tuesday, June 14, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) will host the webinar "Tips for Reporting on Training Performance Metrics". The webinar will review the performance metrics associated with training engagements in the BJA Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Reporting Portal, and offer tips for entering training activities and reporting training performance metrics thoroughly and accurately.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (NTTAC) is hosting a webinar on a cost-benefit analysis model for the criminal justice community. All interested criminal justice professionals are encouraged to participate.

On Tuesday, January 26, Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch spoke at the American Correctional Association Winter Conference on topics including reentry and solitary confinement. Attorney General Lynch outlined existing efforts to improve rehabilitation programs, including the Smart on Crime Initiative and the emphasis on rehabilitation programs to reduce recidivism and promote public safety.

On January 20, 2016, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) released a request for proposal (RFP) seeking a provider to work with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Rhode Island Parole Board.

Therapeutic interventions aimed at reducing the likelihood of reoffending are a staple of contemporary sex offender management practice. While there is strong scientific evidence that therapeutic interventions work for criminal offenders overall, the effectiveness of treatment for sex offenders has been subject to debate. This uncertainty about the effectiveness of treatment for sexual offenders arguably is due to several factors, including measurement shortcomings and inconsistent research findings.
