On July 15, 2021, the SLATT Program was contacted by Ms. Jennifer Fisher, Basic Law Enforcement Training Coordinator for the North Carolina Justice Academy. The North Carolina Justice Academy offers training programs to criminal justice personnel; provides technical assistance to criminal justice agencies upon request; and develops and distributes educational and training materials. The mission of the academy is to serve the citizens of North Carolina by enhancing the careers of criminal justice officers through research, education, and training.

CSG Justice Center Staff responded to requests for information from the field related to aspects of the MHC Curriculum including how to access and utilize the Curriculum as well as responding to technological issues. CSG Justice Center staff also responded to inquiries related to mental health court policy, practice, and resources for which contacts were referred to specific elements of the Curriculum and resources available through the Curriculum.

CSG JC responded to five requests for more information from the field and provided support and training to staff on how to incorporate the curriculum into their technical assistance to Department of Justice grantees and other jurisdictions.

CSG JC Staff presented two sessions at the Oklahoma Annual Problem-Solving Court Training Conference utilizing and advertising material from the Curriculum.

Presented Curriculum materials on Court Teams and Incentives and Sanctions at the Alaskan Mental Health Courts training conference. Curriculum materials adapted for the specific jurisdiction and audience and more information was disseminated about accessing the Curriculum individually.

Caseflow Management has changed very much over the past ten years with new technology and different types of specialty courts. We began a process of reviewing and updating our four-day course, Effective Caseflow Management. We are working with the Justice Management Institute’s Vice President, Tim Dibble. The updated course will be piloted in July, 2015 and we will evaluate the results.
