In September 2024, PRC staff assisted the PREA Management Office in presenting a webinar entitled: PREA Governor's Submissions: Helping to Prepare Your State?s Annual Governor's Submission. This webinar provided an overview of the governors' certification process for PREA coordinators.

This webinar provided an overview of Standard 115.86 sexual abuse incident reviews. The presenters discussed implementation expectations, challenges implementing this standard, promising practices, and auditing considerations.

The developed a three-part Advanced Topics Webinar Series on the protections in the PREA Standards for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming (LGBTI+) people in custody. This series addresses all the requirements in the PREA Standards that specifically reference LGBTI+ people and provides guidance from corrections professionals and other experts who have worked through the challenges associated with these standards and implemented PREA compliant policies and practices.

Operated the auditor certification process for auditors who completed their Field Training Programs during the reporting period and who signed their auditor certification agreements. This includes communicating with them about deadlines, the responsibilities of a probationary auditor, and the requirements that must be met to become fully certified. Upon completion of the necessary steps, we also updated our public auditor directory to display the newly certified auditors names and basic information about them.

The PRC developed a three-part Introductory Topics Webinar Series on protections in the PREA Standards for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming (LGBTI+) people in custody. The three (3) webinars in this series provide relevant introductory training for staff who are responsible for implementing PREA Standards that rely on effective and professional communication with LGBTI+ people who are confined.

Over the past six (6) months, the IACP met with core staff from the Boulder City core team a total of three (3) times to discuss project updates and provide customized TTA. Due to capacity issues, they might adjust the grant to focus on training officers through external organizations, with the NCE approved for September 2025 and ongoing discussions about scope changes. Ride-alongs are currently paused, and the CERT program evaluation report is expected soon, with the next meeting with the IACP to discuss scope changes.
