IIR provided logistical support and coordination for a representative from Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Compton Station along with the VRN Strategic Site Liaison and VRN - CNA Analyst to visit the Oakland and Richmond Police Departments. IIR also reimbursed travel for the individual from LASD. The purpose of this trip was to identify violence reduction efforts in Oakland and Richmond that can be replicated, as appropriate, to enhance violence reduction efforts in Compton.
On April 25, 2013 Mr. Adam K. Matz and Mary Ann Mowatt (APPA) presented the online webinar "Gang Awareness and Assessment in Rural Communities: Implications for Community Corrections" hosted by the American Probation and Parole Association.
