Center staff conducted 5 email correspondence with the Community Development Specialist of the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA) regarding tribal approval of profile and request for photos
New York County Deputy Bureau Chief of Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau, Tracy Conn, offers legal updates in the world of cybercrime and law enforcement efforts to subpoena and search for cell phone and computer evidence. Ms. Conn examines search warrant issues with a case study involving a massive disability retirement fraud case that spans several New York counties; and reviews issues and solutions for examining social media and cyber evidence, including cloud storage, as well as encryption issues faced by prosecutors in the courtroom.
Center staff conducted 2 phone calls and 4 email correspondence with the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians regarding the domestic violence court advisory board and with the project coordinator to discuss basic needs and suggest programs and domestic violence courts for a future site visit.
Center staff conducted 2 phone calls and 8 emails with the Mille Lacs Tribe to discuss changes in the planning team and to discuss strategy moving forward. Also discussed next steps on the construction of a community survey.

JAN-JUNE 2016 PROGRESS UPDATE: SEARCH staff conducted a site visit in Oakland, California on 3/15/16-3/17/16 to assess information sharing and technology capabilities used by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office and provided the findings and recommendations to Violence Reduction Network stakeholders on 6/22/16.
