The NCJA hosted a conference call with member SAAs from the Western Region. During this call, we provided TTA outreach services, with information about the TTA services we offer under this grant, and information about how SAAs can request TTA services. SAAs from Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho and Montana participated in the call, which was held on December 19, 2017.

NCJA hosted a one-hour conference call on December 19, 2017 with SAAs from Montana, Arizona, Idaho and Hawaii. The purpose of this meeting was to to provide an overview of TTA program and an update of government affairs, and to allow discussion of local needs and challenges for SAAs in the western region.
A second one-hour call with Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Texas, Idaho and Montana followed on January 22, 2018 (see related TTA entry in NTTAC) to provided an update on 2017 JAG awards, to discuss Sanctuary Cities, to notify meeting participants about a Byrne JAG stakeholder letter, and to provide information about the 2018 National Forum on Criminal Justice. We also provided an overview of strategic planning TTA program, discussed tentative dates for regional trainings, discussed the need to host an onsite training to accommodate SAAs in the far west (i.e., Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, and Alaska). We also reviewed changes to JFAA that impact 2019 JAG planning requirements and provided an open forum for SAAs to ask questions of Western Regional Chair Andy LeFevre in advance of the January 29-30 NCJA Board of Directors meeting.
