PowerNet of Tampa requested Technical Assistance in coordinating a re-entry round table meeting. BJA NTTAC did not fulfill this request.
PowerNet is taking a lead role to facilitate a county-wide ex-offender reentry strategic planning effort in Hillsborough County (Tampa) Florida. Hillsborough has sentenced more of its residents to the state prison system over the last 10 years than any other county in the state. Therefore, more inmates will be released to the county over the next 5-10 years than ever before. It would be prudent and in the best interest of every resident of this county for a long-term, comprehensive, county-wide strategic planning effort to be initiated to prepare for the increased numbers of citizens returning from the state and federal prison systems as well as the local jails. Furthermore, because the major of inmates in the Florida correctional system are inmates convicted of violent crimes, it will be especially important to develop appropriate programming options prior to their release which is estimated to be between 3,000 - 4,000 per year. which is made who will be disproportionately stem the tidal wave of individuals a re-entry

By submitting this application to BJA NTTAC, I understand that upon approval of this application for TTA, the requestor agrees to keep BJA NTTAC informed of any circumstances that may impact the delivery of the TTA, including changes in the date of the event, event cancellation, or difficulties communicating with the assigned TTA provider.
