Description of the Problem

Oklahoma DOC is experiencing a severe staffing shortage that has a detrimental impact on correctional officer, line staff, and justice-involved individuals’ safety and wellness. This shortage and limited training opportunities lead to higher levels of violence within our facilities. Our staff is not fully equipped to manage a population that has high levels of behavioral health issues and mental illness.

How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
ACA provides an interactive in-person training that will benefit staff by showing how to operate as a multidisciplinary team, become better communicators, increase officer safety, and bring down crime inside facilities. This training will help all staff to better manage and rehabilitate justice-involved individuals by creating better supervisors, line staff, management, mid-management and more. The certification will validate staff members’ abilities and empower them to perform the job duties more effectively.
