"They are particularly interested in streamlining (narrowing) their list of KPIs, table 3, p 19). Senior leadership told them that they wanted more prevention related vs infrastructure KPIs. I told them to make a strategy priority aligned to more of their violence prevention programming because these are about infrastructure. They decided that the revised strategic priority 2 will be more aligned with their OFR committee work.
Since currently no one on staff has time/hours to monitor progress in achieving these strategic priorities and monitoring KPIs, I also told them to put 1-2 strategic priorities in the Appendix and any KPIs related to infrastructure in the appendix because those KPIs are important but they don’t have any staff capacity to actually be monitoring all of these KPIs.
I said I would send them more about developing SMART objectives/Outcomes and also some other good strategic plans. Most strategic plans that I have seen don’t have all infrastructure-related priorities, they have at least 1 if not several strategic priorities that are about the implementation and evaluation of programs, policies, and practices.
