The THWC team continued work on the tribal-specific foundational training curriculum. Activities included:
1. Proposal how current Category 1 Planning and Implementation grantees will meet their planning phase requirement while the curriculum is developed - TLPI proposed to support the three tribal planning and implementation grantees by prioritizing intensive onsite and offsite TTA – and pair each tribe with a mentor court - while we develop the tribal-specific foundational training curriculum. BJA approved the proposed plan on January 10, 2024.
2. Initial meeting with curriculum development workgroup - meeting occurred January 26, 2024 to provide an overview for the need of a tribal-specific curriculum, present the plan to the selected workgroup, and describe work entailed. Confirmation to participate was requested by February 2, 2024.
3. The Workgroup was finalized and includes subject-matter-expert consultants Julie Wilkens, Micaelee Horn, Alex Elswick, Lauren van Schilfgaarde, along with TLPI's Tribal Healing to Wellness Court Team.
4. Work on a tribal-specific foundational training curriculum continued with independent work time and bi-weekly workgroup meetings. Each subcommittee would share progress on assigned curriculum sections, and the Task Lead, Wellness Court Specialist Alyssa Harrold, would address questions or clarifications needed by the team and share development of training delivery plans and materials. Work will continue into the next reporting period with deadlines for a draft curriculum set.
