TTA activity description

The Investigation Unit of the Moses Lake Police Department has seen a sharp uptick in violence in recent years. Last year Major Crimes Detectives handled three homicides, multiple shootings, several sexual assault cases and numerous Internet Crimes Against Children cases. In every one of these cases, electronic devices were used by the suspects, which prompted the need to obtain multiple search warrants for electronic data. Our Street Crimes Detectives also investigated multiple drug, gun, and gang offenses with the same type of electronic data used in each one of those cases.

With the workload of our detectives, we are in need of an analyst to assist with obtaining and analyzing the data. The analyst would work exclusively with detectives pouring over the data to assist with case preparation. The analyst would also be required to use software in the performance of their duties. We are currently using Cellebrite and other software programs to access electronic data in phones and computers.
