We are needing assistance in identifying our policy coordinating group, training of such individuals, and officer and case management training as well. Further, we need assistance developing our policies and procedures, and providing education of the new program to the community.
We are wanting to establish a Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion Program (LEAD) in our community, and have been working with the LEAD Support Bureau on a pro bono basis, but we are now at the stages of needing more intensive and ongoing technical assistance and support. Specifically, we are needing customized support and training for our partners who will be involved with our LEAD program.

LEAD programs provide an alternative response to incarceration, for individuals who find themselves in a cycle of justice system involvement, due to unmet behavioral health needs. Additionally, they have the ancillary effect of fostering better relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Our community is wanting more alternatives and better solutions , and our agency is willing to partner with the community to help fund a program like LEAD. However, we cannot do this alone, and technical assistance would further aid our efforts in establishing this program.
