The Center is working with the Montana Statewide Drug Court Administrator to implement two teleservices pilot projects: the Matrix Model initiative and the CBT4CBT initiative. These two projects are testing the remote delivery of evidence-based substance abuse treatment programs in nine of Montana's drug courts. To document the successes and challenges of implementation, the Center is creating pre- and post-surveys that will be completed by drug court staff, partner agencies, and clients. The survey results will be used to inform the field and benefit future teleservices initiatives in Montana and other jurisdictions.

The Center's research department created a pre-survey to be completed by drug court staff, partner agencies, and clients prior to the implementation of the Matrix Model and CBT4CBT pilot programs. The survey was delivered to the Montana Statewide Drug Court Administrator in electronic and hard copy format to administer to the designated individuals at the nine pilot courts. It is anticipated that all survey responses will be received by the end of January 2015.
The Montana Statewide Drug Court Administrator completed the survey of drug court staff in January 2015 to determine capacity to use video based therapy using the Matrix model and CBT4CBT. Staff were asked to rate their capacity to use this system based upon existing equipment, internet connectivity, restrictions to connectivity, distance to travel to a treatment site, and comfort of using video to deliver interventions. Drug Court participants have also been surveyed regarding their wilingness to participate in video based interventions, as well as distances that must be traveled to attend court mandated treatment services. Based upon the completed feedback from practitioners, and the ongoing feedback from participants that will continue throughout the pilot program, the pilot use of Matrix and CBT4CBT was initiated and regular treatment intervention sessions have been held. An evaluation of the effectiveness of the survey will be conducted at the end of the pilot.
